The session will cover recognising possible abuse, how to respond and highlight the support available in the community. In particular we hope to address where Adult safeguarding differs from Children’s safeguarding.  Reviewing responsibilities for specific groups – LD, adult mental illness, elderly, dementia, care home residents and looking at the practicalities such as referral pathways.

It will be led by Dr Naoimh White,  a GP with a special interest in safeguarding and she will be joined by  MDT Colleagues to discuss the extent of the problem in Northern Ireland.
