Pathway for patients referred from Covid Centre or GP Surgery to Emergency Department

Currently, all adult (16 years+) Belfast Trust patients being brought by ambulance to an Emergency Department with suspected Covid are being directed to the Mater Hospital Emergency Department (ED). 

In addition, any Belfast Trust patient being referred for ED assessment or treatment from a Covid centre, GP surgery or GP OOHs with suspected Covid, should be directed to the Mater Hospital ED.

Exception is those with a primary complaint involving a regional specialty issue (eg trauma, surgery, cardiac, stroke etc) who have co-existing suspected or proven Covid, who should be referred to the Royal Victoria Hospital ED.
