RCN Foundation announce opening of Autumn education and career development grants for nursing and midwifery professionals
Today the RCN Foundation has opened its annual Autumn round of education and career development grants. These grants aim to support those involved in nursing and midwifery to develop professional, upskill themselves, and enhance the care they give to patients. Grants can be used to undertake undergraduate degrees, postgraduate qualifications, and professional training.
The RCN Foundation is an independent charity that supports nursing and midwifery staff, and they do not have to be an RCN member to receive our support. The maximum amount for education grants available for continuous professional development is up to £1,600 and for student nurses it is £2,500. Applications are welcome from nurses, midwives, nursing associates, maternity assistants, healthcare support workers, and student nurses, who will begin their study between 1 January – 31 December 2025. The closing date for applications is 18 October 2024.
Deepa Korea, RCN Foundation Director said: “The RCN Foundation is proud to continue to invest in the future of nursing and midwifery through our education grants. These grants support and give access to professionals who wish to undertake learning and development activities to enhance their careers, but in turn improve the care they give to their patients. Last year alone we supported the professional development and training of 110 individuals through our education grants that totalled £163,000. Whether you are a nurse, midwife, nursing associate, maternity assistant, healthcare support worker, or student nurse, I strongly encourage you to take the time to see what funding we have available and apply for an RCN Foundation education grant.”
