In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic the BHSCT Psychiatry of Old Age have extended their pilot for CCG ‘Referral for Advice. ‘
FROM WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL FOR A PERIOD OF 2 MONTHS IN THE FIRST INSTANCE – NO DEFINITIVE END DATE AT THIS POINT.
They will accept referrals for advice of those aged over 65 living in the Belfast area not currently open to General Adult Psychiatry. It is hoped that GPs will use the service to seek Consultant/Associate Specialist advice/support on the management of community patients whom they judge in the current circumstances not to require face-to-face specialist psychiatric assessment. The service will be open for those not currently on the Psychiatry of Old Age Caseload as well as current patients.
